The Diamondbacks have traded Bronson Arroyo and last year's first-round draft pick, Touki Toussaint, to the Braves for infielder Phil Gosselin.

Arroyo has not pitched since undergoing Tommy John surgery last July 18. He signed with Arizona as a free agent before last season after eight years with the Reds.

Padres top prospect Trea Turner is finally headed to the Nationals, according to an ESPN.com report on Sunday.

The shortstop, selected 13th overall by San Diego in the June 2014 draft, was part of a three-team trade in December that sent 2013 AL Rookie of the Year Wil Myers to the Padres.

Turner had to wait to join his new team, however, due to Major League Rule 3(b)(6), which states that a draft pick cannot be traded until one year after he signs his initial contract. Also, Rule 12(e)(2) says teams have six months from the time of a trade to finalize a player to be named.

The Seattle Mariners have acquired Mark Trumbo from the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a six-player trade.

Seattle announced the trade after their fifth-straight loss. They entered Wednesday with the lowest batting average and second-worst on-base percentage in the American League.

"You look at where we were offensively, and we're not doing exactly what I thought we would do or most people thought we would do, and Trumbo is a guy that brings an awful lot to the table," Jack Zduriencik said. "He's a big power hitter that will bat somewhere in the middle of our lineup. Thought he would be really good insurance for the ballclub."

The Diamondbacks will receive catcher Welington Castillo, right-handed reliever Dominic Leone and minor leaguers Gabby Guerrero and Jack Reinheimer while also sending left-handed pitcher Vidal Nuno to the Mariners.

The Boston Red Sox will acquire Alejandro De Aza from the Baltimore Orioles.

Boston will send cash considerations to Baltimore to complete the deal.
